  What did YOU do to stay awake???

  back when i was still a jw, i used to work night shift alot for my job.

  this included saturday nights as well.

  our kingdom hall had our sunday public talks in the morning and i always found it difficult to stay awake, especially after being up all night!

  my loyal-dub wife had a wonderful morning knocking on empty homes earlier this week.

  last night she confided in me with an observation.

  she has noticed what she perceives to be a "pioneer clique" in our congregation.

  He made a smart ass remark about me not pioneering and therefore not a good example or good association.

  That's about the point I would've pulled out a big, fat joint, lit up and blew it in his face.

  30 Minute Public Talk-CONFIRMED

  i can confirm (as there seems to be some doubt) at the service meeting last night during the item about the new watchtower, a letter was read by the po.

  the public talk is to be 30 minutes long.

  this is to allow for more association and ministry.. lengthy negative introductions about the state of the system of things/deep last days etc are to be heavily curtailed.

  They can't seriously believe that this will cause more people to go out in the ministry on Sunday. Even the most hardcore dubs I knew avoided Sunday afternoon service like it was the plague. And as for shortening the WT study as well, keep dreaming. The WT is their main source of indocrination. Even if they did away with all other meetings altogether, they would never change the WT study.

  or so my mom (a reg pioneer of 15yrs) says.

  i tried to tell my mom about the wt coverups like un-ngo, rand cam, shares/stocks they own, the payout for the sexual assault victims, and a few more.

  well this is what she had to say to me about the whole thing.

  How Did you Feel Being Raised as a Jehovah's Witness?

  quite a thought, huh?

  i was raised from birth as my family was in it 7 years before i was born ( 1952).

  i remember wanting to go out for school sports in high school as my p.e.

  The worst thing for me was being viewed as differen't by the other kids every time there was a birthday or a holiday and I wasn't able to participate. I also remember the looks I got when I refused to say the pledge of allegiance. Every time I ran into a kid from school out in the ministry I just wanted to crawl into a hole and die. I wanted to play football in the worst way, but I knew that was out of the question. I remember what it was like having to explain to the sports coaches why I couldn't go out, and also having to explain to the guidance counselor why I wasn't going on to college, despite my good grades. When they say your high school years are the best years of your life, they are clearly not talking about a JW.

  Michael Vick Indicted On DogFighting Charges!

  it looks like there is some strong evidence, at least enough to charge him with numerous counts, including cruelty to animals.

  if found guilty he could face prison time.

  it's hard for me to believe that he was willing to risk his hard earned success for this dispicable behavior!

  I think it would be extremely hypocritical if the commissioner didn't suspend him. According to the new zero tolerance policy players can be suspended even before they are convicted in court. If he's going to suspend Pacman Jones, Tank Johnson and Chris Henry before they got convicted he should the same for Vick. My guess is that there will be a double standard for him because he is a marquee player and the others weren't.
